Hi,

I have a 97 Lexus 400 which I have owned for 3 months and am very pleased with. Originally according to the user manual it was fitted with 225 60 R16 tyres but during the passage of time has been fitted with 245 50 R17 which I expect will require replacing soon.

The ride of the car is not as precise as I would like and wonder if this may be due to the larger tyres fitted, I am thinking of either going back to original spec or even fitting 245 (40s or 45s) R17 tyres. I know the speedo will read higher than actual by a few % but hoping to get a better ride and handling.

Also 245 (40s or 45s) are quite a bit cheaper, can any one reccommend any particular tyre I fancy Dunlop SP Sport Maxx A or the Bridgestone RE050

Has anyone got experience and words of wisdom on this subject matter.
