Front Door Speakers

Recommended Posts

has anyone installed anything bigger than a 5" (130mm) drive unit in the existing door hole without any cutting or heavy modification? i ask as im thinking about buying some more of the amazing diamond M6 range and putting their 6.5" (170mm) units in the doors without any cutting of the metal as i would like to be able to refit all the lex parts when i sell it on...

The most i was thinking about doing - was making up some mdf spacers and bolting them to the door thru the existing rivet holes then screwing the speakers onto that, i just havent looked at what mounting depth i have available behind the trim yet...

It is exactly what I have in my car already, although I have the M5's they fit straight into the holes, even better if you take the plastic trim off the stock ones that can also be used easily BUT it does ruin the stock speakers
