Newbie Wanting Advice On Sat Navigation Unit

So you haven't seen this working and only recently bought it ? Hmm, call me cynical, but I wonder if the previous owner made up that story about the battery (or ran it down deliberately) just to cover up the fact that the satnav screen is busted ?

It is an awful thought, and I hope it's not true but as long as you got the car for a great price maybe it wasn't a concern.

If the remote beeps and all, the nav unit is clearly fine, the faults with the screen - need to figure out if it's a wiring issue or if it's just a dead screen.

think its the only way to get to the bottom of it..

Very generous offer, yes probably the easiest way to figure out whether it is indeed the screen that is dead :)
