Morning chaps,

Im currently driving the Lex in a flagrant disregard for MPG just to see how much this tank will do, and have noticed that at high speed it feeds odd, almost as if the front tyres were flat. The first time i checked after I 1st got the car home I found the front tyres at 18psi. I currently run at 37psi. Feedback through the steering is fine, no shakes, shudders, tugging, or odd vibrations. Its a 'odd' feel through the seat, and stops you pressing on. I wondered if anyone has experienced anything like this as I dont want to spend money on the wrong thing.

I have to say that within the legal limit all is well, however it shouldnt misbehave in this way.

Thanks for any advice.

I notice a change in feeling on the motorway, I put it down to the variable power steering- you get less assistance at higher speeds

The best thing to do is get it looked at with a view to getting a diagnosis.

One thing I will say is the LS400 isn't really happy at being pushed hard into corners, in fairness it's not designed to be but I'm wondering if this is where it's feeling "odd" ie: body roll etc or are you talking straight line high speeds?

Yup!. straight lines at high (cough cough) speed. I know a vagues questions going to get a vague answers :) Given it some thought I can describe it as a shudder felt through the seat, not at the wheel. The car had been sorn for several months, I wonder if the tyres aren't round anymore...

A search on shudder found a couple of post referring to "lower front steering swivel joints " causing a shudder at motorway speeds, any idea what they refere to exactly, as it has had lower ball joints done in the past.
