What Type Of Windscreen Do I Have?

Recommended Posts

I picked up a stone chip on the windscreen at the weekend. I phoned Autoglass to ask them to come out to repair it and after what seemed like 50 questions about what the stone chip looked like, what it felt like etc the decided that it might not be repairable and that they will bring out a replacement windscreen just in case. Fair enough I suppose.

Anyway, will my Lexus have any sort of special windscreen? I want to ensure they replace like with like. I'm sure my screen has a tinge to it all over, sort of a pinky reflective type thing when the light catches it in certain directions.

Any help appreciated. Mine is a 2002 LS430.

Tell them you want a OEM Lexus windscreen- this way you will know that the replacement has the right tint etc.

Autoglass will tell you its ok to fit a non OEM screen. Insist on a OEM Lexus windscreen (may take a few days for Autoglass to get one).

I got Autoglass to fit me a OEM screen to my IS200 2 weeks ago.

lol @ stuie

The differences are with what colour tint you have, thats it.

Think my lexus has 3 types of tint, dont change it just go with what you already have in the car, you know the band behind your sunvisors (waits for another sarcasm riddled comment from stuie....)
