Hello all,

The rear bumper on my 2001 LS 430 has 4 x parking sensors in it. 2 on each corner and 2 in the middle. The 2 in the middle are faulty.

I've found this : http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_E_2001_LEXU...EAGKW_8417.html but don't know which parking sensors the middle 2 are? (Ultra sonic 1 or Ultra sonic 2) Can anyone help so I can get on the hunt for some replacements please?

Cheers!

Before replacing the actual sensors it's quite common for the wires leading to the sensors to go brittle, especially if they have ever been stressed like if the bumper has been removed for any reason, i'd check to see the condition of the wiring first before buying any new sensors.

Thanks for the tip James. If it helps, when I put the car into reverse it says "Check sensor" on the display. Any tips on getting to the sensors in the rear bumper? I've had a look and can't see an obvious way of getting to them, popping them out etc.

Can't help you Modman, but I have a linked question. Sometimes when I put the car into reverse I get a slow repeating beep that speeds up as I approach an object. Other times I just get one long beep as I put it into reverse then no beeps at all when I approach the obstacle. This happened yesterday after it had been with lexus tEesside. They'll fix it, but I'm still interested in the reason

Hi Modman,

I saw your article regarding parking sensors and I have the same car and problem. My two rear central sensors have been stolen from my car and I have been quoted £160 each by Lexus to replace them. Did you manage to resolve your issue?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Adam

Hi Chaps - No joy on the parking sensor front. the ones I keep finding may or may not fit and since I can't get mine out to get the part number I'm stuck :( Will let you know if I come right, but if you have the correct part number's it'd be super.
