Pod Air Filters

Hello there, I was just wondering whether anyone has any experience with replacing the stock air filter with a POD filter, specifically the K&N Typhoon series as shown here:

http://www.knfilters.com/typhoon/tappguide.lexus.html

Specifically i'm wondernig about the noise production, and effects of changing it to a free flowing system using the stock air sensor. Is this likely to cause problems for the ECU?

Thanks

I installed a K&N and 2 days later the check engine light came on, when I took it to the dealer they said my sensor was ruined and my car was running really lean. They also wouldn't fix it under warranty until I put the stock intake back on. Now i'm looking for an SRT intake with the ecu, heard it's the best one.

That's strange - I have never heard of an ecu light problem on is200 or is300 when fitting and induction kit.

The K&N system is only for the is300 but should work OK although it doesn't have the integral velocity stack like some of the decent Japanese manufactured systems have. You can also feed cold air to the filter which will be helpful.

Mark :)
