Door Lock

hello i don,t know if anyone can help but my rear drivers side door refuses to open. it,s been unlocking from the remote but every now and then i,d have to press the unlock button twice. now it unlocks but refuses to open, even when i manually unlock the door ! anybody have any ideas about how to fix it ? or at least how to take the door panel off to have a look. thanx in advance for any advice !

Are you sure it's not frozen?

Sound like if the door wont open you will have to take to lexus as to get panel off you need to have door open to undo the screws holding door card on

I found a PDF file on how to remove door panel on is300. I had same sort of thing, it turned out my lock was frozen. Does anyone know where the receiver for central locking is,

mine does not work, Lexus programmer keys and said it would be £500 to replace. I just want to know where it is. Can anyone help

central locking reciever is on the parcel shelf in the same box as the brake light mate.

Thanks, how do you remove that is it by the black nut square shape???

How exactly do you get to the central locking receiver under the parcel shelf break light?? Are there any instructions available??? Thanks

Hi, don't know if your going to reply to this as you posted it some time ago. I have exactly the same problem on my '99 IS200 auto, my rear driver side door. It will open from the inside but not the outside, unlocks fine on the fob.

I've had a look around the other forums and it seems to be a problem with the Lexus SC also, see:

with the only helpful advice of 'replace the door handle'.

with the same problem from AdamT. This definitely is NOT a child safety feature as I tried switching the child lock on and now i can't open the door from the inside or the outside. Perfect.

Any help or advice greatly appreciated.

well it looks as though i've answered my own problem!

well i just removed the screw from behind the rear door handle a gave the plastic surround a bit of a tug then put the screw back in and it works perfect every time now ! good bit of luck !
