Lost Master Key

Hi

I have managed to loose the master key, and the Lexus dealer is saying it will cost you £1000 as they can't program another key without the master, I have the valet key. Has anyone else ever lost the master key and what did you do :(

Haven't used these myself, maybe someone else has? But it has to be worth an enquiry.

This kind of service is more common in the U.S., so it can be done, but I'd be sure to check EVERYTHING, including getting a couple of previous satisfied Lexus customers before you let them loose.

This is a very highly publised issue with Lexus & Toyota, a case of owner beware I guess, my keys live on a chain to my belt when I'm out, just to be sure - that won't stop me sitting on them & breaking a master though...... ummmm ...... errrrr.... back to the drawing board! :-(

I am sure I have 2 master keys and one valet :)

Is this different depending on the country? Maybe you have another one and you dont remember it??

As mentioned above the car comes with two master and one valet keys. Have you lost both master keys?
