Hi

Some help & advice please guys.

Kerbed a wheel on my 250IS during the lousy road conditions. Decided to have it repaired. There is a choice.

Completely stripped back, repaired & powder coated. Cost £88.

OR Repair damaged section of rim and respray. Cost £50.

Anyone had any experience of either repair. The powder coat says the spray repair will not last (paint stripped off at first jet wheel wash). The spray repair says powder coating great until it is chipped then corrosion sets in under the coating corroding the actual alloy of the wheel.

Thanks for any imput.

Paint coating is OK as long as it's prepared properly. High Pressure jet washing isn't a good idea anyway, you stand a change of ruining your tyres as well as paint coatings.
