4 New Dunlops Fitted

Finally got a chance (now the snow has all gone) to get my new tyres fitted.

I have always been a Dunlop SP9000 (Lexus version) man but as these are no longer available, I have had to make a bold choice on some new replacements. After a lot of research and speaking to Dunlop, I decided upon the SP Sport Maxx TT (linky.

After a tiny wheel spin out of Micheldever Tyres in Hampshire (probably due to the amount of dirt and grit about), and me wondering if these new tyres weren't gonna grip so well until worn in, I can happily say that so far I am well pleased.

They so far seem to have plenty of grip and compared to the SP9000 they are quieter and also more comfortable.

Only time will tell on how they wear, but they have the same tread and wear rating as the SP9000 so I assume they will be similar (which in my case is 30k miles or so).

Had the front alignment checked too, so it now also drives in a straight line!

Nice one- I had 4 Yokohama C drives fitted on the weekend, seems like I made a good choice, as the Yoko's seem v quite and grip well.

Had the Goodyear Eagle F1A's before- they were also good, but I managed to kill a set of them in 16.5k! My geometry is fine- its all the motorway driving I do.

My spare tyre is a SP9000L- as you say shame we can't get these SP9000L's no more.
