Continuing Transmission Issues

I wrote in the main forum of a problem I had with the auto transmission not changing up when cold. It also stalled in reverse.

It went back twice and each time they changed the fluid and filter - on a transmission that is supposedly a sealed unit. Its just come back again after being promised a new transmission. This hasn't happened. Instead they've repaired the existing unit again. According to the warranty invoice they've "removed transmission and replaced shift solenoids and filter. Cleaned valve body, Roadtested Vehicle,OK"

I'm concerned that whatever keeps blocking the filter still has not been addressed. I'm guessing that band material has shed and that this is the culprit. However I'm not a mechanic and only have a rudimentary understanding of how these things work.

I'd really appreciate some input here

TIA

Tony

Tony , make shure your driveshaft seal is NOT weeping ...get underneath and get your hand up there any red means its weeping ...this causes lower fluid level over time which causes many problems

OK no leaks. Got the car back and realised from the invoice that they have rebuilt the existing transmission. They had it out and replaced the shift solenoids and cleaned the valve body. Still not happy but it is running fine for now.

They are now giving me a 2 year extended warranty on the transmission. OK but now the car is making the noise on starting that got fixed at 40K

I've had enough. The car has more rattles than should occur at this age- caliper slides (again) mainly. Front brakes need new discs(again). I had a subaru before this for five years that had none of these issues. I'll be selling- soon and I won't be back for a lexus
