Catching Noise Coming From Drivers Side Wheel

Wel since i bought the car three weeks ago, i seem to hear this noise coming from the dirvers wheel, and it only happens when i turn left, and the noise is alot the louder the faster i go around corners, it is booked it to be checked as the garage had it up in the air today and they said there is no play in the calipers of bearings or anything so its abit of mistery, it sounds like something is catching at the same point of every revolution of the wheel.

I had the wheels off last weekend painting the calipers and theres no noise when turning the wheel in mid air, it seems to be louder the more weight is over the wheel/caliper/brake.

Anyone had the same thing?

the shield thing at the back of the disc gets put out of shape quite easy if lent on a little bit - would make a twangy kind of noise - i could be wrong as not a mechanic

i had noise from my passenger side brakes when turning and i find out that my brake caliper rubber was ripped and caliper cylinder got rusty and was getting stuck sometimes

sorry for the late reply, i stil have not solved the problem, in this time, iv had the backing plate pushed back and had the front barring replaced as the garage said it sounded like a dry baring, i dont know where to go from here tbh :duh:

no mate had new wheel bearing done and its stil there, just not as bad

parthibian if you read this do you relate to these kind of noises at all in relation to the work you have upcoming at wim ? ie have you got a noise from the hub ?

i have noticed a whistling noise from one of the driverside wheels, its constant regardless of steering etc, getting faster as i speed up, its faint and have been told cheap pads can be the cause of this but i think it could be a sticky caliper, extremely annoying so going to get it sorted asap

Let us know because we are all waiting for a answer so far. I took all the wheels off on the weekend and breaks but nothing so keep us posted. are mintex brakes clasified as cheap?? that is what I got

no, i have been told that mintex are good quality pads and they are the ones to go for, i am very eager to get this sorted, if my other specialist mechanic cant sort it im bringing her to the dealership and letting them boys work away, im willing to pay through the nose to get this sorted cuz i only owned the car two weeks, always dreamt of one, now this annoying noise, very happy with car etc but this problem is starting to really bug me, the minute i know what the cause is ill let u chaps know
