Will Gs300 Mk1 Engine Fit Mk2 Vvti 1998

my engine on my gs300 mk2 1998 hasblown i have a mk1 gs3oo fo spares will the engine be the same if i had somebody to fit it

the original engine in the mk2 says vvti onit but the mk1 one only has twincam 24 valve are they the same or would the sensors,ecu or other things need to be changed the engine codes are te same on both cars.thankyou

I would expect there to be a wiring harness and ecu change to do that swap at the very least.
