Quick Question On Ls430 Engine Management Light

recently bought an ls430

runs great but just have a quick question regarding the engine management light.

should it be illuminated when key turned on prior to starting or does it only ever come on if a fault present?

if it should come on i am hoping no ones removed bulb (if possible) has anyone experienced bulb failure on this?

hope someone out there can shed some light (excuse the punn)

On mine the EML should be on when you switch on the ignition and should go out after the engine has started. If it's not on when the ignition is switched on then it might sound like someone has been fiddling.

mines a 2001 anyone else out there confirm how light should work?

just want to know for sure before i start looking at removing clocks to check bulbs on back.

I have a 2001 and the light is on with the ignition and off after the engine starts. Sorry as this is probably not what you want to hear.
