Fm Radio Not Working

My FM radio has awful reception in my IS. I've done a bit of crawling through previous topics on the forum but couldn't find anything definative to say what the cause might be. I have checked all the connections around the back of the stereo and have checked that the aerial is receiving 12v. Is this likely to be an aerial fault or a headunit fault? Also I have seen 'radio amps' on eBay off of IS200's (which I didn't even know was on the car) are these a likely problem area? Many thanks

I am having same problem. only my AM works. sometimes the FM works but most of the time it does not. i only hear statics. i already ordered new stereo. repairing the oem one is not worth it anymore since most of the stereos that we need in the present are ipod ready stereos.

Before you go for a new stereo, get a cheapo standard car aerial and plug it into the socket on the back of the OEM stereo and just stick it out of the window. If FM is then good, it is not the stereo and a new one will be just as bad!
