Trc Off Blinking + Mil On

Hello,

I have a problem with my car. After some driving, the TRC OFF starts blinking and ABS light turns on. There are no drivability problems, just traction control system and ABS are turned off. When it started to snow here in Lithuania, it became an actual problem. Driving without ABS in winter time is quite dangerous :) My car has been plugged in and it showed two problems: right front wheel speed sensor possible fault and malfunction of ABS system.

Has anybody had any similar problem? Does the swap of the speed sensor solve the problem? The main thing, which concerns me is that the problem is not constant. If I turn off the car and start it again, the error is no longer there until it gets detected. Could it be that the sensor is sometimes working and sometimes not, thus giving the error?

Any piece of advice is highly appreciated :) Thanks!

ya same problem here on same wheel got mine checked and think it is a break in the wire to abs sensor, thats why it's not happening all the time only when connection breaks, i just got sensor with full wire in breakers hope it works not fitted yet, it has worked on previous cars for me

Thanks for your input ;) Please let me know in what it will result in your case. If it helps - I will have to do the same with mine. You had broken wires on other cars resulting in similar symptoms?

Also, what is interesting in my case and what would make me think that it could be something else than broken wire, is that the error usally appears, when I am reversing at low speeds and making a turn (like reversing back from the parking place).

The most common ABS problems are:

Connection, normally the connector closest to the wheel.

Trigger wheel damage, e.g. due to rust.

Thanks for your reply, Igino.

Well - the trigger wheel in my case seems to be fine. The serviceman has examined it through the hole, where the ABS sensor is put. It seems to be fine.

As with the connector - how many connections are there (any idea?). Where does it go from the wheel? Mine has been unplugged several times, because they had mine uninstalled and reinstalled.

P.S. Are poeple from Lexus able to check the values of each sensor on the drive with special OBD?

wires weren't broke but this time it's looking like that because of it only happening some time's, the other cars had no TRC light just solid ABS light and was abs sensor but sometimes a quick clean of the sensor works, here's hopin i get sorted ,have the second hand one but if i find break in wire when taking out my just try and sort and leave the origanil sensor in, cheers

Yes - but what's strange with mine, is that it is usually triggered by reversing. I can make several houndreds of kilometers driving straight without getting the error. But it is enought to park the car and then to reverse back to the road, and the error appears. Somehow it doesn't prove the break in the wire theory :S Anyway, who knows...
