Winter Tyres 215 - 45 - 17 For Is300

hi guys,

does any one know where i can find a set (x4) winter tyres 215-45-17 for my is300,

have called all my local tyre places all out of stock,

looked online same story there to

some one some where has to have some !!!!!!!

even if they are part worn

any help would greatful.

Go for 16" (205-55)..cheaper and easier to find or you want to put them onto your summer wheels or you already have wheels? 16s dont look good on car but you only have them on for a sort time and the main thing is not the look anyway just my option

Just changed to winter style last weekend

ps: planning to buy an other set of 16" from the 2nd gen IS.. might look a little better

Just changed to winter style last weekend

was going to put them on my normal alloys but most places near me are charging £10 per wheel to change the tyres which will end up being £80 each year, :o

was'nt sure what size tyre i would need if i changed to 16" alloy now i no "(205-55)" thanks :winky:

if i can find a cheap set of 16" alloys then will go down the road

does any one know what other lexus wheels have the same stud pattern as the is200/is300

Just done a bit of research on tyre and rim choices, lots of chat on here about 16" wheels, yes they can be bought but tyre choice in winter tyres are limited to 185/60/16 by "snowprox " price £111.40 each or 175/60/16 at £190.00 each !! ( Mytyres site )

With winter tyres the thinner the better but not choice for the standard 17" IS200 rim, sticking with the standard tyre size 215/45/17 Mytyres do a tyre by Maxxis which is a mud & snow tyre at £96.30 each, so maybe pound for pound a pair of standard size rear tyres in a mud & snow pattern could get you through the winter, along with a few bags of cement in the boot !

tyre calculator

on there if i work backwards on the size they say to stay within 2.5%

with putting 205-55-16 on its comes back that its 1.06% will this not be ok

i also put in the 185-60-16 which does come back at 0.5% which is closer i know,

how much difference will that 1.1% make to fuel ect

I Looked on the tyre calculator as well and got the correct % , just to find no such tyre is made with the snow tread also fuel consumption is so bad in the winter in slow moving traffic , i really wouldn't worry about it :winky:

i run 225/40/18 propper winter tyres here in sweden. you can get every size of tyre if you go to the right place
