Welcome to the club!

I haven't heard tell of any gear box oil leaks, so no, I don't think this is a commom fault. Perhaps check the trans fluid level (after a trip, engine running, run through all the drive positions while stationary, then check level) I think that's the proceedure

You might have an engine sticker saying when the belt was changed, if not, probably best get it done for peace of mind

welcome to our happy band.

Agree with mybikesacx500; not heard of gear box oil leak. As for the cam belt; best to do it now but, having said that (and ill probably get shot down for this) you could just leave it. Im pretty sure at that age its the engine that wont distroy itself if he belt goes. :tomato: Thats what im doing anyway.

I'm doing the same, my '92 is a non-interference engine, so no damage if the belt goes, so even though my water pump is noisy sometimes, I am leaving it for now

Ive just been for a toodle around eBay and Autotrader. There are loads of LS400s for less than the cost of a cambelt change. While i was there, i came across a few IS Sportcross.

I could do with an estate.....Hmmmmmmmmm..got he thinking.
