People do badge altezza's as IS200's and vice versa mate. The best thing to do is get the chassis number, that'll clarify most things excpet the re-shell but if you're looking at it and find it extremely unlikely then make a judgement call.

Mine is registered as an altezza on a T plate but was only imported last year so plate might not be an indication of length of time in the UK.

Its probably just a DVLA ***** up or the previous owner trying to get cheaper tax/insurance so just badged it differently think no-one would know any different and they still get the performance of the Tezza. I'm guessing and basing the above on nothing other than speculation but if its got all the bells and whistles of a decent altezza then buy it and whip the badges off then correct the DVLA.
