Sat Nav

I have luckily come across a IS200 sat nav which I got for peanuts so didnt refuse it. Would like to know can this be fitted to work in an IS200 that didnt originally have a nav. I can assume there have to be wiring changes, but as my looms was cut before I had the car Im still in the process of finding the loom that will fit the stereo.

Can this work without too much difficulty

its possible but not easy.

the cd rom is located in the boot on the right by spare wheel so all that has to be fitted.

your cd player head unit has to be changed also with the top deck for screen.

plus centre console for the control switch.

then you got all the wiring from rear to front.

if your getting the satnav kit already out from the other car & your going to fit it yourself then go for it.

I know it will be quite complex, I think I will leave it for a while do some more research and when the times right in the summer I might have a go and see what happens. Think it will be worth it if I could get it running tho.

Hi to be honest with you its very difficult and not worth the bother, what did you buy?just the screen and housing?did you buy the wiring loom and the module(player)that fits in the boot?if the answer is no to last two questions then am sorry the answer is a definite no.

Yes it was just the screen and housing and could get the loom easily. But no dont have the player, so I will take your advice and knock that one on the head and just sell the screen and housing. Thanks anyway

Hi,yes to be honest with you i would knock it on the head, you are better off Custom fitting a widescreen(sony) satnav into it.You might be able to buy one off here or maybe eBay.My 1st IS 200 was a non sat nav one and went down the road of buying a complete lexus sat nav including wiring loom etc only to discover it was too much hassle so scrapped the idea.

What do these custom fitted navs look like, or do u mean just use the housing of the oem nav and replace the inside with a sony nav?

Hi yes just use the housing of the oem nav and replace the inside with a sony nav, there have been a few sold on here and eBay too,a lot easier if you want to convert a non sat nav IS 200.
