Gas Conversion

Hi all,

Soon i will be gas converting my is200 se auto (2000) W reg

Iv had it for a few years now and it is running spot on, 120K

Just unhappy with the fuel prices rising again, as you know these cars are very thirsty

I do around 320 miles per week, £80 combined rural and urban

I live in stourbridge and the best garage that i have researched on so far is Birmingham Auto Gas

They have quoted me £1350

landz italian system

multipoint injection

flaslube kit

Lpg indicator

torodial tank - 60ltr

Filler cap in the left rear quarter

2 year warrenty and 1st free service

I believe that the italian systems work best on the 1gfe and flashlube is a must to prevent the valves from any wear

What i want to know is:

How many miles can be achived.... around town & motorway?

When on gas i read somewhere that the petrol needle will continue to go down? Is this common?

Any reccomended installers around bham/dudley/redditch area?

Iv been told that on gas there should not be any significant power loss and i should be able to double my millage as the cost of gas is 70 odd pence per litre

hi make sure you get some recommendations from people who have had the conversion done by an installer as they have been a number of people on here had it done and have had a few problems

a friend of mine brought an IS200 with LPG which was fitted 3 months ago when purchased.

a week later of hes ownership the car started missfiring.

all checks were done & many parts were replaced.

it had come down to the valves burnt out which was caused by the LPG.

in the end the engine was replaced & sold the car on with the LPG!

i was told it was an italian LPG unit installed.

tricky stuff - its just luck i guess. but i wouldnt risk something for an engine!
