Lpa800 Parking Aid

Recommended Posts

I am new to LOC as I recently purchased my first lexus and it's a rx400 and loving it loads but it's the biggest car I have owned to date.

So went to dealer and bought the LPA800 parking aid with cut off switches front and back.

Did i buy the right kit or should I have gone for aftermarket type?

Can anyone recommend a fitting service in London who knows this parking aid system?

Thanks

Rob

Youv'e got the right kit.

I had the same fitted to my RX400H by the dealer when new and have never regretted it.

I don't know who is going to do the fitting, but the only thing to remember is that the front sensors are only supposed to work when the car is moving very slowly (I think less than 5mph) and will require a connection to the speed pulse wire (hopefully shown somewhere on the wiring diagram).

The front sensor kit also has an on/off switch so that the front sensors can be switched off if you are parked up close to a wall or similar with ignition switched on.

The rear sensors get their power from the reversing lights

BTW the front and back beepers have different tones so that if you're trying to manoeuvre the car in a tight spot, you'll easily know whether it's the front or rear end that's getting close to hitting something

Enjoy your RX - I bought mine in July 2008, and it's far and away the best car I've ever owned and after 3 happy years, there's still nothing elso out there that I'm tempted by (not even a 450H)

Best Regards

Bruce

Hi Bruce, Thank you sooooo much for the information.

I have had the car for nearly a month and i really enjoy driving it.

Its probably the best choice car I have bought in a long time.

So smooth, eats spped bumps, getting rear DVD TV's fitted for the kids and long Journeys.

Looks great in the corporate field and driving down your local High street.

I neighbour of mine asked me if I came into some money as the car looks very expensive.

Who was your dealer? maybe I could take mine there to get fitted?

best regards Rob
