Is200 2002 Location Of Radio Aeriel

Recommended Posts

hi all

could someone be kind enough to tell me if the IS200 has the aeriel for the radio hidden away somewhere or does the roof mounted aeriel go straight to the back of the stereo? i'm not sure if the aeriel on the roof is for the radio or whether the previous owner had this fitted for the DVD/TV headunit.

many thanks

thanks for your reply ormi. na it wasnt a laff mate. the previous owner had fitted lots of stuff (DVD/TV headunit, digital TV tuner, subs and the works. its like a complete cinema system in there. he must have loved the car. i'm taking it all out (because he had removed the headunit) and fitting a simple dvd/tv headunit with a reversing camera. i just didnt want to mess around with the maze of wiring that was in there. anyhow, i'll be needing to plug the radio aeriel into the back of the stereo so i wasnt too sure whether the aeriel on the roof was factory standard for the stereo or whether the guy had this fitted for the DVD/TV headunit. now i know :)

good news... dvd unit test fitted and all looks fine. ran out of daylight so will finish next time.

where is the best place to fit the TV aeriel (for the DVD/TV unit), just dont want to make another hole in the roof and have two aeriels up there. was thinking about sticking it on the inside of the rear window. got black tints on the rear. would i get sufficient reception?
