Rattle Over Speed Bumps

Recommended Posts

I recently had a new front caliper fitted on the 2002 RX300 after one had seized, shortly after I noticed a dreadful rattle going over any sort of bump.

It sounded like a tin tray rattling around. my local garage thought it was the heatshield but that didnt stop it, upon investigation it turned out that the caliper supplied by Guildford Lexus was marginally larger than the original and the springs were not holding the brake pads in securely allowing them to rattle. This was soon solved and I am now back to rattle free motoring.

A an aside I now get 6 mpg more now I am not dragging a brake!
