Is 250 Auto... 1 Day Old, Chek Vsc

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

Picked up my Lexus IS 250 auto, with 50k on the clock, from Lexus showroom... Got home and turned engine on when idle and it said "check vsc" ... And then went away... What's this mean? Isn't coming up any more though. Phone Lexus who said he will ring ASAP .

Congrats on gettimg your IS250. You probably know that "Check VSC" could cover a multitude. I remember this message coming up briefly and then dissapearing so I thought it was ok early in my ownership. But Months later while I was on the way down to the westcountry on holiday it came on and stayed. (no obvious symptoms and luckily it drove fine) Eventually got a diagnostic done and the dealer confirmed it was a faulty abs speed sensor. This needed to be replaced (I left it a while but just had it done today £200 while getting serviced and new f. brakes £££££££). I Got an Aygo as a courtesy car! (Now I appreciate my car even more :-)

Hope that the dealer will sort out issues if they arise - that would be good luck and timing for you!

All the best and enjoy your car! - they are brilliant!

Marcus.

Cheers, as agreed the Lexus dealer popped by today dropped off an 11 reg IS 250 Auto and took mine to check what the issue was with engineers... Faultless customer service. Will update when he makes a call back, Wednesday ... As away from work Monday/Tuesday for the new GS unveiling.

So what was the outcome onkyoman? Nothing serious I hope...

Sorry I hadn't replied sooner, no running smooth as anything absolutely perfect....was apparently a faulty switch near gearbox or something which just needed replacing .... Got car back within two days... Just reads check completed now so happy as larry at the moment. Much appreciate your help and concern.

I just started noticing this appear on my is250 manual, only appears briefly then clears itself, if the car doesn't start properly. Thats normally down to me either lifting the clutch too soon, or not far enough when starting. May have to take it in to get it checked.
