Is220D First Gear Rev Drop

Hi

When pulling away, with load or slight incline, i notice a judder in the wheels and clutch. I also noticed a drop in revs when the judder occurs. I have tried the following:

1) revving up to about 2500 rpms and gently easing off on the clutch while holding on to the revs. It is not a particularly great driving experience as the revs are high but the corresponding power is low.

2) revving up to about 2000 and holding the gas as well as the clutch at just after bite point. Here I notice a dip in the revs to about 1500 for about 2-3 seconds before the turbo kicks in and then the revs and torque are really really impressive -- the car shoots off. However, releasing the clutch before the turbo kicking in causes loss of power and quite a noticeable judder.

Has anybody experienced this and could anyone shine light on what is going on?

How should I describe this to the dealer -- the car is still under warranty.

Check the turbo boost vacuum pump. http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_E_200702_LEXUS_IS250~350~2xxD_ALE20R-AEFLYW_1708.html. see this part number 25819. Remove the connector from this valve and try to rev the engine and check if it smoother. When removing this connector, light on the dash will appear. But will be gone when removing the Battery and connecting everything back. If the engine stays the same with the connector removed, could be clutch/pressure plate or even the egr valve blocked. Hope this helps!
