    Check the turbo boost vacuum pump. http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_E_200702_LEXUS_IS250~350~2xxD_ALE20R-AEFLYW_1708.html. see this part number 25819. Remove the connector from this valve and try to rev the engine and check if it smoother. When removing this connector, light on the dash will appear. But will be gone when removing the battery and connecting everything back. If the engine stays the same with the connector removed, could be clutch/pressure plate or even the egr valve blocked. Hope this helps!

    I have the same problem. I used brake cleaner and the noise stopped for about 2 weeks. Then started again. I went to a garage, but cannot find anything wrong or loose.

    Hi, yes that is normal. This happens because the wheels do not turn at the same angle. You can feel this effect mostly on wet surface. But dont worry. To be 100% sure, check if the wheel alignment.

    Had same problem, I just cleaned the EGR valve, and the engine came back to normal. Hope it works also for you:)

    Hi, Today I bought a OBD reader, and the error P0400 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Malfunction came up. Do you think I need to change the egr valve or just a clean up? Thanks guys

    Hi, I was driving the car normally, then the turbo seemed not to work, no power, and suddenly the warning lights came on. The engine didn't shut down, but the revs came up very slow and not smooth at all! The revs went up and down very rough. Also, when I turned off the engine, it stopped very rough. And stared it again, and didn fire up immediately, seemed like there was no fuel. Felt like only 3 or 2 pistons where firing.... Anyone experienced this? I need help because I am from Malta and have no lexus dealer! To want to check a few thing before taking it to a mechanic. The car is 2007 IS 220d Thanks

    Hi, If no lights had come on, most probably is that the EGR valve is blocked. Clean it. Also, buy a diesel injector cleaner. It help alot! My favorite brand is slick 50 or STP. Also try to rev you engine while on the highway, try to keep the engine about 3000rpm or even more, for about 10-20 min(while cruising). Have a look at the temperature. Keeping the engine revved, the DPF will clean up. A diesel engine suffers a lot from carbon especially when the engine is kept at low rev.. Hope this helps!

    Thanks for the reply. Yes the car had normal bulbs but I fitted HID kit to it. But the HIDs are making a lot of interference, I don't know what can i Do

    Hi recently bought new fog lamp, HID lamps. They work nice and make the car look much nicer at night:) But when I turn them on , the radio reception is almost gone. Anyone knows why? Anyone knows how to fix this problem? Thanks!

    Hi, i tried to put some teflon spray, it help to reduce the noise, but still there! I hate my car because of this! I will try to put some foam where I can reach.. maybe it helps!

    Hi, I have a 2007 is220d and about 5 months ago, the dashboard developed a very annoying creaking sound from the forward middle section of the dashboard. The creak is very loud, but this happens only when the weather is cold(less than than 16 degrees). When I turn on the heater, the creak stops. Also if a put very light pressure in the forward part of the center speaker, the creak stops. What can I do. I have a problem because I am from Malta and have no lexus dealers so I have to try to repair it on my own. Any ideas how??? Thanks

    Hi, I have some light scratches on the glove box trim and also and some plastic near the gear lever. They seem the same material. Is there a repair for scrathes on this type of materiel? It the black materiel. Is there a polish or some kind of spray? Please help me becuase they really look ugly on a car like this. Thanks

    if you heat the engine up before the drive and cool it afterwards, it makes no problem for the engine. but clutch, flywheel, whole drive train, gearbox (if changing aggressively), brakes - this all is trashed. not to mention what will happen if you end up in the gravel... True, but at least the engine will be fine. I want only to try this once, I have to go abroad for a race track cause in my county dont have one! I dont think the clutch drivetrain etc, will be damaged in one day. or?

    Has anyone tried to go a day in a track with a 220d is model?? You think the engine will handle the constant high revs? Will the car experience problem??? I am afraid to go, anyone tried??

    I cleaned the valve, before I had 31mpg city driving, now i have 38mpg! Job very easy to do and worth it!

    Hi, I have a 2007 lexus IS but recently I saw a 2010 model. The navigation display looks nicer and more handy. If I upgrade the maps to 2010, will the software also upgrade to look like the 2010 model?? Also, is it possible to install more maps to the navigation but not lexus maps like garmin or something? Because I am from Malta and lexus fo not have Malta maps! Can I hack the program and install the maps? Thanks
