My 1998 grey import Harrier is excellent, low mileage, reliable, comfortable, what more can one want? Answer: a radio that works properly! The CD part is fine, but the radio manages to pick up Radio 2 for about 3 tracks than fades away in a mess of static; Radio 4 is non-existent and 5 Live sometimes appears. Overall - it's rubbish! It has a band expander on it (so I was told) and a rubber "bee-sting" aerial. I have looked at replacing it with an American 2nd hand radio unit, but I am unsure as to whether this will be compatible with the UK radio system, waveband / lengths, etc. Can anyone advise on this, please?

Is it possible to fit the Lexus SatNav to the radio/CD unit?

Or, is there a used UK radio/CD unit out there anywhere that will fit the Harrier?

My local Lexus dealer in Sheffield wasn't very interested in assisting when I enquired there, stating that they couldn't help as it was a grey import and therefore beyond their mandate. Perhaps I should've told them about the SC430 in the garage....

The Harrier has been converted to LPG, which has proven to be very successful. I've previously done this to a 2003 4.6 Range Rover and a 3.2 Isuzu based Vauxhall Frontera, of which the Harrier is by far the most successful conversion, with the exception of the fuel guage, which goes up and down like a fiddlers elbow, so an educated guess is required to ascertain the petrol level, the LPG indicator works fine, however. I can thoroughly recommend Dave Croft Motorsport in Chesterfield as an LPG expert.

Hope someone can help, many thanks.

Richard
