What To Look For...

Recommended Posts

Hi all .

Having been a lexus owner (on and off) for the last 7/8 years , i am thinking about a is-f (second hand) simple question .... what do i look for ? squinted through the forum , but sometimes its best to ask . car will be under 40k mileage and will be one of the first ones in the country

Cheers

Jon

From everything I have read they are fairly bullet proof, I haven't owned mine long enough to comment from experience though.

On the US website the only thing that was mentioned on early cars was the water pump. I would still suggest buying from a Lexus dealer just to have the piece of mind of Lexus warranty.

As with most things Lexus I would just buy and enjoy! :)

Here you go, read these and buy with confidence:

The cars are much more popular in the US (As the Lexus brand is overall as well) in the UK you will be part of a very exclusive club!

Its what amazes me in why they aren't more popular?! Show me a C63 AMG or an M3 that has had so little done to it over 3 years...for such a tuned car it is astounding!

Hi

Nice one , whats the going rate for discs and pads + what about the tyres , is it best to put on OE or are there better options ? to be fair the car will be well treated and not used hard for 95% of its life as missus is the main user , so grip on the max is not as important as it is for some .

Cheers

There is a post on Disc and Pads a few down: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=76576

Tyres you'll be looking at £1k+ for a set, somewhere in the region of £250-£350 per tyre, Lexus do a set of Winter Blizzaks for about £1100 including storing for them each Summer.
