Gps Screen Flashing And All Front Panel Controls Not Working

I'm new to the Lexus RX400H. I've read the manual, but unfortunately it does not have a troubleshooting section.

About a week ago, the GPS unit would not come on when the vehicle starts. It just flashes up with the Lexus sign now. While this is happening if the radio is on that goes up and down in volume in line with the flashing. The Air or heater won't turn on at all, I can not access any of the menus for the screen/map. All other dash screens work and other electrics.

Any ideas?

This doesn't sound good. You could first try disconnecting the Battery to reset everything.

To see if the diagnostics will actually display:

Put the car into 'Ready'

Headlights off

Press and HOLD the Info button

With the info button held in, turn on the sidelights and off again 3 times (allow about 1 second between each movement)

A diagnostic screen should now appear on the LCD screen - it will display all the system components, allow 30second to 1 minute for the diagnostics to complete and a status will appear against each component.

If nothing comes up on the display then really the only option is to go to a Lexus dealer who will have the correct diagnostic equipment required to determine the fault but I suspect it will a fault with the main Multi Display unit. Best option would be to try and find one from a breakers as a new one will be very expensive from Lexus.
