Gauging Interest...moving On.

Recommended Posts

I have lately been considering getting rid of my car and moving on to something else.

This is not a for sale ad as such. I'm gauging interest at the moment and as such I feel that it is right to add some information about it.

I have an 03 (Aug) plate Sport (8N8) which is presently at 110k, service and MOT are due next month at my local Lexus dealer.

I have owned the car less than 4 years and apart from the brake pads being changed and a new clutch being fitted in Nov 2011 the car has been what you would expect, faultless.

The cam belt was done by Lexus Sheffield at 90k, so there is plenty of miles remaining before it needs replacing.

Like any other Lexus owner I take a pride in the car and it's appearance and although there are the usual paint chips/road rash here and there, the body is in generally good condition for it's age.

It is fitted with the TTE Charger kit which has done less than 4k miles since it was put on last May,prior to that the previous owner told me it had done 18k on his car.

I have no knowledge of it's ownership before then, suffice to say it makes all the right noises and it runs perfectly. A new belt was fitted and the charger oil changed before it went on my car.

A set of 3 Defi Advance BF gauges were purchased from Japan and installed above the centre console air vents at the same time, boost, oil temp and revs (revs more for show).

I have made a few modifications to the car, most notably on the inside where the standard Alcantara seats have been replaced with a full leather interior, including door cards and armrest. There are some smaller details such as Altezza wind deflectors, bonnet struts, stainless steel dials, clock surround and chrome heater rings.

The stock head unit has gone and was replaced with a Pioneer unit with Bluetooth and a mic kit by the previous owner.

The stock alloys have been refurbished and done in metallic gold and the rubber is Falken FK 452's with less than 500 miles run. There is no spare at present.

The body kit is FRP, however I was intending to replace this with the Altezza Qualitat body kit than I bought last year. I wanted to get the car resprayed the same as the blue Qualitat, but at £3k for a full respray this does not make economical sense. This kit will go with the car if I do get rid of it.

I must stress the charger kit and the car are one item.

If I do decide to move on then I will put it up in the classifieds or the other usual places.

Thanks for reading.

That is looking nice Russell.

Thought of anything for a replacement yet?

BTW. Does the super charger make a big difference? Been thinking a lot about one of these over the last week or so...

About 50hp. And keep thinking; they're very rare, very expensive, and even trying to make one up from parts isn't easy. It's easier, cheaper and quicker to just buy an IS with one already fitted, and swap it into your car

Raymond, the difference is....hot and cold, slow and fast, night and day. An IS200 with the charger is immense. You would not want to go back to N/A after you have had it fitted. Ask anyone who has had it fitted.

Hi i know you want to sell the charger with the car but you may get more money if you split and sell separate but what price was you thinking of selling it for

Splitting really is not an option to be honest. I work 2 jobs and I don't really have the time available to do it or for someone to come and strip it.
