Passenger Heated Seat Not Working

 Share

Recommended Posts

Ever since ive had my IS (about 4 months) the passenger heated seat hasnt worked properly. Only the upper back heats up and is also is only slightly warm. I have only found one person with a similar problem reported in this post from 2007 and no fix ever came up.

http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=63499&st=0

Other ppl have had fuses going or broken switches but my fuse and switch is fine and lights up as should etc. I have also checked all looms and connectors under the seat which appear to be in place

So in the 6 years that post has been up im just wondering if anyone has had any luck with a similar problem or has any additional information for a fix or what the problem might be.

I don,t think they get that hot just mildly warm? If you have part of the seat warming then it is either a broken element or an internal connection within the seat. If you can locate the wires as the enter the seat you could do a continuity testing for break in the circuit.

Well put it this way, compared to the drivers seat it's barly warm and no arse heat! My driver seat heats up beautifully as should no know for sure there's a prob with passenger. I will have a closer look at the looms then and test with a meter... I hope it's not the element as I've heard it's a biggy

Don't know if it's the same but there was a thread on the LS forum where he just changed the heater element in the seat.

ha JUST changed them! this would be a big job and costly. Hoping its a loom problem. I want to swap the interior to cream anyway so will win win :)
