hi was looking at a 220d for the wife,nice looking car,08 plate 27000 miles,took a run in it but did'nt seem to be much power below 2000 revs,seems to be a lot of problems with this 5th injector,erg valve,cylinder heads,rear breaks and low mpg,can anyone give me advice on this car.how can i check if recall work has been done ,thanks.

Wifey car? Seriously, have a look at a 250 if you want a Lexus.

Saying that from the point of assuming local running around not doing big journeys. Danger of sooting up the EGR, DPF and all the problems that go with it.

The 250 Auto is the way to go in my book. Or maybe look at a 2nd hand CT200h if you can find one she likes driving. You'll get better economy that way.

I agree with Normski. If the car is for short journeys, around town etc then the CT200h may be the way to go if you want a Lexus. I had one while my 220d was in for a service; never dropped below 50MPG around town....on the motorway not so good though.

However if fuel is not an issue and you want a Lexus how about a one owner FMDSH RX300. Fully loaded facelift (late 2003 on) available for £5k up with average miles. :whistling:
