In truth, your best bet is to take one out and check it visually. For all you know the previous owner may have changed the bulb type from the original.

Sometimes it can be as well to get 4 (at a better price on fleabay or suchlike), change both and have two spares ready for use. Keep a note of what you have used.

My originals from my 220d were Philips H11 at 55w.

Thanks is there a way if telling what type if light they are? When they are on they are a whitish blue colour.

I think I can see a headlight washer on your bumper in your profile picture which would suggest that you have Xenons. The bulb is D4S.
