Power Steering Leak

Recommended Posts

I topped up my power steering fluid between the Max & min cold mark When the car was cold. I checked it twice after I Drove It when it was cold and Noticed that the fluid is now on the cold min mark. I think possibly the last time the fluid was topped up was when the car was serviced about a month ago or a month and a half when purchased. when I checked the fluid for The First Time since I Had the Car before topping it up although low I could still see fluid in the tank. Is it leaking, if so if it hasn't been checked for a month surely the tank would of been empty or is this normal operation. it's a lexus 200

Just keep monitoring it for a few days.

Mine sits on full when hot and full when cold on the hot/cold markers. Haven't had to top mine up in a long time. You'll know if your losing fluid after a couple of days, it's not normal to have to keep topping up.

It seems To be settled now. I have checked It For A Few Days and When Cold it lies on the cold min line and when warm lies on the min hot line. Thank goodness, don't know what caused the initial drop in fluid in the beginning, Maybe air in the system

Hi Guys,

Ive got a small leak from one of the pipes in front of the radiator, don't know if its the actual pipe or the rubber pipe or a seal so I was thinking of using slick 50 power steering fluid cos it says it repairs leaks, any comments on that ?
