Mk3 Boot Wont Open ?

Hello All

My boot wont release either from the button on the boot lid or the key or boot release in the car, is there anything i can check before i strip the bootlid down to check the solenoid and switch?????

Hi Andy, sure you have not caught the security switch in the glove box and just turned it off? ( Like I did )

Were about is the switch ,i have seen the passenger airbag switch ?the car is parked at my office at the moment so i cant check it till monday , just want to know what im looking for.

I remember the time I got caught out with that one. I couldn't open the boot for a week until I met a friend with a GS and informed him of my problem. He just opened the glovebox and pressed the switch and then laughed.

That pesky button in the glovebox, It's like an initiation ritual for the GS.

I have got the same problem, but switching button not helps. Any solutions?
