Rear Number Plate Was The Edges Angled..anyone Got A Pic Or Advise?

I was wondering was the rear number plates angled on the edges from new? By this I mean is the length of the top is longer than the length of the bottom much like a Rover 75 rear plate if you know what I mean.

Can anyone offer any advise or pics perhaps?

When I worked in a Lexus dealership the oversize rear number plates were rectangular, same length top and bottom.

Ah right ok but the plate is taller than a standard plate,am I correct in thinking this.The one on my car is anyway.
