Hi I'm Hopefully Going To Buy A Is220D At Then End Of The Month

As I said in the description I'm hoping to buy a is220d at the end of the month, just want some basic info about them like mpg, miles to a take, if you can map them for more bhp, mods? Any pictures in the comments will be helpful :)

Hi Colin

Have a read through the comments on the forum about the IS220d, by all account it was not lexus's finest hour. However there are a lot of IS220d owners on the forum who love there cars and have had years of enjoyment from them, but there are issues that you should be aware of before purchasing one. As with all Lexus ensure it has a full dealer service history and any recalls have been done, also ask if there has been any issues with the engine, dpf, dual mass flywheel etc. I am sure some of the 220d owners will be able to provide you with more detailed information but there is mountains of information on the forum if you have some time to look through it.

Yeah they do look a really smart car and lots of spec, yeah got a while to find out the problems yet.. Would really like a se model but needs to be black interior as I about vomited when I saw the other colour lol.

If u want xtra toys then go for se-l model, if u gonna buy private then its worth spending that xtra get it checked by rac, aa and if dealer get warranty,mines dark blue with grey leather as this was my 1st lexus didn't really know what to look for but now lm an expert lol dmf is a problem,dpf,blocked rgr,I get 27 28 mpg round town but then dependes on ur driving styles but don't b put off by these issues it's a dream to drive mines 2006 buy 1 with average mileage for yr

There all around 115-130k millage doesn't put me off as I've just got rid of a astra van (didn't use it as a van lol) and that had 190k on the clock, yeah deffo wanna SE model & I'm abit heavy footed lol. That was my astra van

I don't know if u know this that is220d comes in 3 specs basic,se and se-l ,hope u find a good 1 I don't mind traveling for a nice car I bought mine from Preston @ I'm in London even went Edinburgh to see a Lexus,

Watch what you buy regarding model,

When I bought mine I thought it was SE L with all the toys but it wasn't as was pointed out to me from this forum, mine turned out to be SE i which is the next one down

If I remember right the SE L has rear sun blind electric memory seats blue tooth and a few more gadgets.

When I bought mine, took it for a test drive I was happy with it and arranged a date to pick it up when I got home I joined this forum and looked at different posts on the SE L and thought all these toys on the car can't wait to pick it up, when I collected it got it home then realised something isn't right.

When I posted on the forum a few lads said it should have all the toys on it then one lad said is it not the SE i model sure enough it was and I was getting mixed up the l was an i.
