Seized Calipers And Vsc Light

Just been to Lexus Woodford this morning brakes were soft @ front Calipers r seized @ quoted me £800+ to replace can get refurbish for £100 pair @came home parked car vsc @ engine light came on @when turned engine off it shamed like earthquake, drove it had no power left it for a while lights gone @drove normal any ideas what could have caused it did checked forum @ said if u go to fast round bend it goes into safe is this try??????

VSC has nothing to do with front brakes or engine shaking. The warning lights would have logged an error in the ECU so it's probably best to have the error codes read and take things from there.

Re brakes, A stuck caliper is a very general term and dealers like to replace things even when they are not necessarily needed. There are plenty of 'How to's' on youtube and the US LOC site that show step by step instructions on how to strip the brakes so that you can investigate the braking issue.
