Waterpump ?

Strange rumbling noise coming from this area and pulley has a lot of play 😞,any one changed it themselves and any special tools required ??,many thanks.

Rumbling noise? i've heard of high pitched whining noises occuring when water pump begins to fail. When do you hear the rumble? When accelerating or can you hear it from outside too when idling?

This is the first report i've heard of it here, but seems to be a very common issue in the States.

Sounds more like a dry bearing noise mate but only from outside the car.Spoke to a ex Lexus mechanic today and he told me there prone for it,even low milers like mine !!

Changed mine at 54000. Pretty straight forward.

It does tend to vary. Lots of members on ClubLexus have had to replace it with low mileage. My car is on 160k miles and still on original water pump (knock wood)
