  1. I have just shoved a duster between the screen and dash which has solved mine
  2. I would check your water pump. Mine needed replacing at 54000 miles (as many do) and you will lose the coolant then any way.
  3. I too would like to update my 07 is250 as some of the new roads aren't on it and it would be great to be able to do it on the go. Is this what I need http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-TOYOTA-LEXUS-NAVIGATION-SAT-NAV-DISC-DVD-UK-EUROPE-2009-2010-E12-ref-9-/400692144390?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item5d4b1ce906 And how much of a saving would that be over getting it from Lexus? Thanks
  4. Don't have transmission filters do they? Thought the transmission oil didn't need changing but might be wrong
  5. Don't think this allows the ipod to be controlled via touchscreen or steering wheel tho :(
  6. I too am interested in ipod integration on my 07 is 250, but would like to keep the use of the cd player. Vaistech do one but don't know if its any good??
  7. As I understand it, the carbon doesn't build up around the pistons, only the valves, and this wouldn't cause an engine to seize
  8. That's strange. I would have expected lack of oil or engine overheating for it to seize and neither of these occurred.
  9. Sorry to hear your bad luck. Very unusual for an engine to seize like that. What engine light came on and how long did you drive with it on? Hope you get it sorted ok.
  10. Think I'm right in saying these fobs constantly emit the signal to unlock car, which is how smart entry works, whereas normal cars only emit when you press the button. So your spare will run out at the same time as the one you use daily even though you haven;t touched the spare. I keep a spare battery in the car.
  11. Well I finally have got this problem resolved after nearly 6 months :( The dealer (Not Lexus) I bought the car off have tried their best and finally found a solution. Having fitted a new radio and 2 new rear screens, the problem was narrowed down to the wiring between the rear screen and the radio, which meant the roof lining would have to come out to access it. To avoid this they have installed a DAB motion interface. See here http://www.dabmotion.co.uk/ This involved a small discreet antenna on the front screen which feeds a small box. This receives the DAB signal and transmits it on an FM band, so now one of my FM presets is for DAB radio, and I can get dozens of channels perfectly clearly. I would recommend it. Think it cost my dealer £400 installed
  12. What is this on the dash of my is 250 and is it easy to remove? You can just see that the top right corner has lifted slightly and rattles when I go over a bump. I would like to remove it and put some tape or something under it. Light hand pressure stops the rattle. TIA Spider
  13. I'm having a problem with my Sat Nav. I re calibrate it, but as I drive off the cursor wanders off the road and is floating around in a field and never recovers. I have also noticed the 'GPS' symbol is missing from the top left of the screen. Any ideas?
  14. Just the poor/non existent radio reception. Everything else is spot on. Thanks.
  15. Thanks Normski2 thats very helpful. I will contact them and see what they say. And yes it is the ML. Thanks again, Spider Mike
  16. Hi all, Following on from my thread about the poor radio reception in my is 250, I took my car to Lexus Cambridge. They fitted a new aerial which made no difference. They then put a radio in from another car which cured the problem, so mine needs a new radio at over £4000! Does anyone know of a firm that repairs these as I can't afford a new one at that money. Thanks, Spider Mike
  17. I have heard that the rear screen heater can interfere. Unfortunately mine does it without the rear screen heater on :-(
