Had my ls 430 two weeks now and even am more delighted with it - however, I have just one small niggle - when turning or overtaking in a situation where there is insufficient steering wheel movement to engage the cancelling mechanism the indicator will carry on merrily telling the outside world that a left ( or right) turn is imminent regardless of the fact that I have no intention of doing either!

Clearly this would not occur if the normal ticking sound of the turn unit was audible - even though this is the quietest car I've ever owned - it is not. And no, before you ask, I am not as deaf as the proverbial post!!

On previous cars I have owned with this problem, I have solved it by re-locating the turn unit in a less remote position thereby giving an audible warning. .

Problem here is, I can't locate the damned thing on this car! I tried grovelling under the dash (not easy either) but this must be done with the drivers door open and the ignition on - that then means that you have a gong like a Continental railway crossing clanging in your left ear. Chances of pinning down the location of a turn unit with a terminal case of laryngitis are zilch.

I would be extremely grateful for any suggestions as to position/access to this unit ( preferably ones that can be voiced in mixed company please!!)

Maybe I'm deafer than I think or maybe your is louder than mine!!

To be serious though, it is just audible if I listen hard at low speeds, but the sound is easily drowned out by higher speeds, music, open window or normal conversation with passengers. The thing is buried somewhere behind the dash as far as I can tell - would be nice to dig it out to make it easier to hear. Has anybody any knowledge of it's whereabouts or access to it?
