Anyone had to replace the Battery on their mk2 IS? What sort of age and mileage? Think mine is starting to die after 6 years. I take it an exide Battery will do the job?

Did mine on my 220d after 6yrs. Exide/Varta/Bosch will do the job. Make sure you get the poles the right way on the Battery.

Resync your windows afterwards too.

Just changed the Battery on my IS220D at 6 1/2 years and 91,000 miles . I changed it for a Calcium Tech LION http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Lexus_IS_2.2_2007/p/car-parts/car-electrics-and-car-lighting/electrical/car-battery/?444773351&1&571d18d2e1fea15915da2f67556b0c47a7e5162c&000020 at £75. The batter has the correct sized 17.9 and 19.5 posts. Plenty of variants about on the net and in stores but this has always been my prefered source for parts.

aye its just starting to be slightly lazy when starting, mainly from cold. I left the radio and the blower running when i went into a garage for 5 minutes and it took the second try to start it. Got the Battery tested at Halfords and the guy said that the alternator and starter were ok, but the reader advised to replace the Battery. Take it this is the same way everyone elses started going?

Yes, exactly, mine got lazy on the starter and I was pleased it was only the Battery, one cell was u/s on test. Now she spins up first go.

Cheers lads, ordered an Exide Excel 249 - seems to be a decent make anyways - lexus one was typically wildly expensive.
