I am considering getting a 2004 LS 430, and have a question about the Bluetooth cell phone usage ....

The reviews talk about the fact that dialing is immobilized when the car is in motion, except for speed dials. However, when the car is in motion, can I still dial by voice recognition, by speaking a voice command and a desired new phone number? If not, seems very limiting.

Your input would be appreciated ....

Thanks

Kive

I am pretty well versed on this subject, unfortunately because I had a factory unit installed then removed because it sucked.

1. You can only dial the speed dial numbers that are in your phone.

2. You cannot say numbers to dial them.

3. The only possibility would be an ATT system where you can set one of the speed dial numbers as their *121 which would then access your personal voice dialing system where you can store 2000 voice numbers at $3.99 a month, but Lexus doesn't use an ATT system for cell, although they do for the Lexus Link. (Pretty sure about that, not positive).

4. By a Parrott Bluetooth unit that plugs into your cigarette lighter and a blue tooth phone. Works "fair". (Its called "driveblue").

How can a car company that's so advanced, be so weak on cell phone technology?
