Internal Condensation Stops Sound From Radio And Satnav!

Recommended Posts

I have been suffering with excessive internal condensation on my 9 year old GS. As there was a musty smell I have just had the air-con treated with anti-bacterial and the pollen filter replaced. I keep the air-con set to automatic and do not leave the intake set to recycle.

Separately I have had an intermittant problem with lack of sound from the radio and sat nav. When this happens there are no audible beeps when pressing buttons and one cannot change any audio settings.

Yesterday I realised that the lack of sound occurs when there is a lot of condensation on the insdie of the windows when getting into the car.

Can someone tell me where the connection is that is shorting out with moisture so as to stop all the sound and audio?

Thanks

I had a similar problem with LS400- some of the audio controls did not work, i could not adjust speaker settings etc..

Traced the problems to the satnav unit in the boot- it was water damaged (leaking boot seal). Interesting, that the navigation bit was still functioning ok, but it was causing problems to the head unit.
