Hi all!

Recently noticed oil marks around the gasket. The oil level is the same but theres more and more oil on the engine itself.

Any reason to worry?

If it is your gasket that is leaking it could mean the oil and the coolant is mixing and emulsifying which might explain your pink build up around the pump. This decreases the effectiveness of your coolant, heating up your engine and exacerbating the problem.

If caught in time, this shouldn't cause long term damage to your engine, but your gasket should be replaced asap and your engine and coolant system flushed to get rid of any contaminants.

A second opinion is welcome form other members and please correct me if i'm talking b***ocks.

That oil is leaking from the camshaft cover, pretty sure mine has a few tiny weeps here & there, its not the head gasket so not to worry, just give it a clean with a jetwash & keep an eye on it & oil level, looks like your bypass water pump pipe seals are leaking, give that a blast too & keep an eye on it & your coolant level :)

Mine water pump pipe seal was changed under warranty around 50.000 miles and was solved, now had 62.000 miles and still not leaking from the camshaft cover at the moment :lookaround:

That was in my case only the pipe seal and the pump was fine (I think there are two seals), your seems the same thing.

I did not myself because the car was under warranty but I think the difficulty (for me) on a scale of 1 to 10 would be 7, although it also depends on one's own abilities :whistling:

Also you can check the pump:

Here you have the bolts torque:

Here you have the index:

Good luck!

I read your message again, perhaps I have not explained well, not's the pump seal It's the bypass water pump pipe seals, the pipe from thermostat to the block.
