  1. With a nic like swamprat are you positive it is not you My IS250 is only 8 days old and thankfully no bad smells yet.
  2. I hope you saw the orange rings a lot. Means you gave the car a good workout :winky:
  3. A quicker approach may be to purchase or borrow an IDE to USB adapter. It allows you to easily connect the hard disk from the old PC to the new PC and then copy the files using Windows Explorer. Here is an example although I am sure you will find much cheaper http://www.usb-ware.com/usb-2-ide-adapter-ud200.htm
  4. Both the speedo and rev-counter can be individually programmed to warn the driver of overspeed or over-revving by showing an orange ring when the set limit is reached. The values of MPH and RPM can only be set when the car is stationary. The rev-counter is useful for judging manual gear changes.
  5. Since getting my IS250 I have been converting all my CDs to MP3 files/folders and burning them 10 folders (CDs) at a time to MP3-CDs. That means about 60 CDs equivalent in the IS250 MM stacker at a time. Doing this via iTunes means automatic folder and track naming. Absolutely foolproof I also have an iPod, but have not yet invested in a car charger or good quality audio cable. Should I bother? Is the iPod sound any better? Am I missing anything? I would be more keen if the iPod integrated properly!! All advice welcome.
  6. I don't know, but with various large animals crossing the road day and night, 40km is probably the safest
  7. Try the car flame-thrower. http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/africa/9812/11/flame.thrower.car/ How about a group-buy
  8. We could do with speed limits like that in Australia. In Victoria we have 40km near schools and busy shopping areas, 50km in heavy suburban, 60km in light suburban, 100km on local motorways and 110km on interstate motorways. There are also various 70km, 80km and 90km areas, supposedly for safety, but equally likely as reveune earners near fixed speed-cameras. Having written this I now realise that the growth industry in Australia is road speed signs
  9. As always, opinions differ. I have been driving an IS250 for 4 days and have never driven a car before that has so many people stopping to stare. And the comments in car parks are fantastic. Bland and boring is far from the truth and coming from Gen 1 IS owners is beginning to sound like sour grapes. Lexus are making real progress and the price point is making a very clear statement about where they want to be.
  10. Definitely black leather or alcantara. The ivory is hard to keep clean and it does not look so good against the dark dash. You will forget the wait quickly once you have the car, so hang on for the right thing.
