Real sorry to hear that michaelm. I ordered the IS250SE with MM too back at the beginning of Feb and was told roughly 12 weeks i.e. end of April, however the way things are going i'm guessing it wont be to long before i get a phone call too to tell me its been delayed further !!! Unlinke you i haven't handed a PX. 12 weeks already seemed so long away, if i have to wait longer i dont know what i'm gonna do !!!!!!!

I ordered IS250 SE Auto/MM beginning of Feb and was told 12 weeks wait, therefore end of April !!! I heard that you get a confirmed date only 2 weeks before delivery, is that true??

Velcrow, i'm guessing Glasgow was your local dealership?? I have just ordered from them and although i cant say may experience has been as bad as Jamboo's, it still wasn't the best. They never seem to get in touch when they said they would and if i e-mailed or phoned them they would take forever to return a call!!! In addition, i was supposed to be called to confirm a delivery date 2 weeks ago, and as of yet have received nothing from them, even when i have e-mailed them regarding this last week !!!

rap03 thanks for the Info, however unfortunately here in the UK i was told the Auto option will definitely NOT be an option for the Sport, strange i know but thats why i went for the SE.

great news Ivan !! I bet for the next 2 weeks there wont be much else you'll be thinking about !!! I went for the SE with 18" wheels as an optional extra. I was told end of April and as of yet still no confirmed date. It just seems so long away !!!!!!!!!

hey matty, i too am getting the 18" wheels. The ones that come with the sport in my opinion look the best and i was told i could get them. However like you said any 18" alloys for your car would not be available until April, which is what i have been told. There was no mention of any problems of fitting the 18" alloys, i dont see why they shouldn't if they are available as optional extras??

Tel, £2700 seems rather steep. I was offered the 18" wheels for £1250

i was wanting to go for the Sports model too, however there is no Auto option here with the Sport so i settled for the SE and added 18" wheels. Although it doesn't have the lowered suspension i guess it should still look pretty good?? Anyone have 18" wheels on their SE or SE-L or have any pics?? How much do they actually lower the suspension???

I've seen 2 in total, 1 of which i saw today. I saw one cruising on the motorway and it looked damn nice !!!! I like many others placed my order for the IS250, i was told by the salesperson that she would phone that week to confirm a delivery date. It has now been 2 weeks and no call. I have e-mailed her regarding this, although she did say that any new IS with MM will be 12 weeks wait.

I test drove the IS250 Sport and SE-L, and honestly couldn't really tell a great difference between the two. Yes the Sport the ride is a little harder but apart from that it was great !!! I have to say aswell, the 18" wheels really look excellent. Also i didn't really like the manual, i prefer the Auto.

I was told that if you have chosen the MM package then it is a minimum of 12 weeks wait. Same with 18" alloys etc I'm not sure but it may be the same for the sport, depending on when you placed the order

excellent car, looks fantastic !!!! I was hoping to go for the same colour combo too !! I only wish we got the option of having the rear lip spoiler coz it really does look cool.

just another quick question. I was hoping to place an order for the SE this week, and was hoping to get some advice from you guys !!! I'm sorry if has been asked before or if its a lame Q, but is there anything i should be weary of when ordering the car, anything i should ask for?? I was gonna ask to get the supraguard and floor mats etc. but is there anything else?? Usually when i order something, i always realise later and think, oh damn should have asked for that !!! ok folks, i had a test drive in the IS 250 Sport. First off, it looks damn good !!! As in every picture you probably see anyway, but the 18" alloys i think really suit the car. Everything interior is just the same as the SE, which also has the metal effect trim. As for the ride, ofcourse very smooth but i just felt it was lacking, i just didn't get that real sporty feel as you might with, do i dare say, a BMW. A fantastic car in its own right, but compared to the auto i had driven a few months ago, the Sport manual just didn't do it for me, so i have decided to go for the SE with Auto + MM and probably add on 18" wheels too. I have to say despite having the bigger wheels the ride was still very smooth and i didn't notice any great difference in road noise etc. Although the Sport comes with the added features as in the SE-L - rain sensing wipers - memory seats - HID lights....... etc i would have liked those features, but the auto takes precedence. I was thinking of going for Black with beige leather interior. Has anyone else added 18" wheels to their SE or SE-L, if so which ones did you go for?? I was gonna go for the ones on the sport, coz they probably look the best!!!

well its really between the IS250 SE with auto, or IS250 Sport. I would like the sport because of the extra stuff you get compared to the SE, but having tried the auto once i thought it was fantastic. I know the SE-L has the similar spec to the Sport, but i prefer the metal effect trim etc in the sport compared to the SE-L, also the 18" alloys too !!!

Hey folks !!! Like i've said before i have been reading the posts in the forum for awhile, and have thoroughly enjoyed everybody's comments especially regarding the new IS 250. I was hoping to order a new IS250, although i test drove the SE-L which was superb, i really liked the Auto and paddle shift. However i was hoping the auto would be in the Sport, but i have just been told that the Auto will definitely not be an option in the Sport. I am due a test drive in the Sport this weekend, but i was hoping to ask a few of you guys which probably have more experience in this than me, which would you guys recommend, Auto or Manual?? Especially those who have either in the new IS250. I have driven the Auto in the IS250 SE-L like i said, but those who have a manual IS250, what do you make of it?? Any comments or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

hey guys, although i'm not from Australia i have been reading this thread for awhile and interested with all of the comments made, they have been very helpful. Congrats to all of you who have the new lexus, but i was hoping if you could tell me whether the Sports model comes in Auto or in Manual alone, as it is still very uncertain here in the UK and i am getting very mixed reports as to whether the Auto will be an option in the Sport. yeah, i go to the Glasgow branch, who have been very good so far, but i haven't heard anything from them for so long, kinda got the feeling they have forgotten about me !! Anyway i'll give them a call to see whats goin on, might just give Edinburgh a call too. Just wanted to ask too, do you know if the Auto option in the sport is available to order too?? thanks

thats good news Ivan. I'm still waiting for a phone call from Lexus too. It has been over a month since i last spoke to my dealer and i dont think i could have stressed enough that i wanted to be called a.s.a.p they found out when i could test drive and order the Sport. I'm starting to grow a little impatient !!!!

I've posted regarding the sport previously, and i also have been led to believe intially that the Sport will be released in April. However as has just been stated, every ad has the Sport pictured with a Jan release. Further to my call to LExus they told me that the Sport will be released in Jan. I spoke to my local Lexus garage too, and they have said that someone has ordered one which is due for delivery this month. Although, i dont know if thats delayed now?? They did say that they would contact me regarding the Sport, so i'm just waiting for the phone call !!!! With regards to the Auto option, i have been reassured by lexus that it WILL be an option, however i am losing confidence in lexus, every time i speak to someone i get told something different and no one really seems to know !!!! The cost, from what i know is set at £26.500 for Sport Will report back if i receive any further info.

i've been trying to follow the matter of the auto option in the Sport model for a while now and continue to be assured that it will be available !!! The brochures available all include prices for an Auto in the Sport model and i was told by Lexus that the Auto will be an option with Sport. However saying that, my local Lexus garage have yet to confirm this and have no date for the Auto Sport although the manual will be out in a matter of weeks.

i phoned lexus, and they have said now, that both manual and auto versions of the IS 250 sport will be released in Jan and it is the IS 220d Sport which is to be released in April.

according to the brochures and the lexus garage, there will be an Auto option for the sport?? The lady in the garage said she had vehicle supply etc who confirmed that there will be auto Sport models, although there may not be too many made !! Because of this, i cant put in an order as they still dont know when it will be released?
