Hi folks, Just a question about the HID headlamps. I have IS250 SE and was wanting to upgrade to HIDS, but to be perfectly honest dont really know much about them. I saw this on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...em=250158519946 what do you guys think? What kinda price should HID kits cost?? Also is it the Bi-xenon which bend round corners etc?? Do you have to get a different kit for that or is that all integrated. Sorry for the dumb questions Thanks for any help

It was Arnold Clark in Bishopbriggs. Thats where they take all the Lexus cars for any body repair etc. Thanks for the support. The Merc 220CDi just doesn't do it for me !

Jamboo, good to hear that things are turning out well for you. It feels strange having to use a key for Merc, being so used to the "keyless" Lexus. I'll keep you posted with mpg if your interested, see how it compares to the 220D. Oh, almost forgot, when i handed the car in for repair i noticed that there was a big scratch down the passenger side door, which unfortunately was not due to the accident!! It looks like somone had keyed it ! I'm an optimistic person, so hopefully things can only get better !! Thanks again for the support

Thats what someone said to me, (not that i would know, ofcourse !!) but someone smashed into the back of my IS250 on the motorway at what felt was a high speed !! The entire back end of the car is pretty much ruined, the boot is twisted - so it doesn't open close properly, the left exhaust is broken, broken tail light and the rear has pretty much come off its hinges on both sides. Needless to say that i was pretty stunned but fortunately no one was injured. The idiot driver who caused the accident, his car didn't fair too well either, infact it was pretty much a write off. He only had a Fiat Punto !! which explains why he didn't seem too upset and p!ssed me off even more !! So my car, only 5 months old is in the garage. Lexus, here in Glasgow dont have a body shop so i took it a Garage which they recommended and is an Approved Lexus Body Shop. Apparantly all new parts are required - new bumper, exhaust, lights etc. Handed the car yesterday and with it being the holiday period, wont get it now until well into the new year. People have been saying that the car will never be the same again, which is worrying me!! I hope that getting the new parts etc the car will be repaired to what it was, which is still very new !! Anyway, i have an 06 Merc C220 CDI to have fun with so will test it out fully while my car is in for repair!

where can you get the alloy pedal set?? Is that from your dealer and how much for set, fitting etc?? thanks

From what i've heard so far, i thought you couldn't just put mp3's onto a DVD like you do with a cd?? Although i think i can make it work by changing the format of the tracks etc, so you can put all your tracks onto one DVD !! Has anyone else tried and succeeded?

Congrats on the new car !! The shuffle doesn't really bother me, i've never really thought about it. I am in the process of making a DVD audio disk which i'm confident should work !! Dont know if anyone has tried that?? Will let you know how i get on !!

Hey guys, i posted on another topic that i am finally a proud owner of a new IS250 SE in Black. As part of the deal i got Lexus to supaguard the car, however less than a week of owning the car 2 scratches have appeared one on either side !!!!! In addition to this there seems to be what appears as scuff marks on the bonnet and the passenger door, which dont clear if i try to rub them off !!!!!! The car has been phenominal but the scratches are really pi***ng me off Is it best that i take it to Lexus to get these sorted or go somewhere else which may be cheaper. I will probably take the car next week coz i have to take it to a wedding and no doubt there will be some kids getting too close !!! Anyway, i also wanted to ask although i have had the supaguard done is there anything else that i should be doing to help protect the car and keep it shiny !! e.g. wax, wash and what materials etc would be best Thanks again for any help

Thanks for all the replies guys, and i am happy to say i am now a proud owner of a new Lexus IS250 SE. Like some of you said, when i saw it in the showroom sitting pretty, all that was said to me went in one ear and out the other, lol !! it looked so much better than i had imagined, although it was 6 months ago when i ordered !!! Anyway, i too went for the black and at the moment it looks really shiny, due to the supaguard which i had done, but i have to ask, with it having the supaguard what is the best way to keep it looking shiny?? Should i use the waxes etc or just simply wash it alone?? Thanks again guys !!!

Hey folks, back again and happy to say that i have been told my new Lexus IS 250SE is ready for collection, so will be there tomorrow to pick it up. Just wanted to ask those of you who are lucky enough to be driving one at the moment, is there any advice you would give when collecting the car?? i.e. anything i should look for in particular? any questions i should be asking the dealer? I thought about a test drive, but speaking to the dealer she was adamant that the rattle and seat belt issues had been resolved and does not affect my car or those built at the similar time or after. To be honest, the only time i have is after work, which means it would late evening and i would rather just go drive the car on my own/friends, than sit with the dealer etc..... Anyway, thanks for any help Bring on tomorrow !!!!

Hey guys, i'm sorry if this is a stupid question but i hope to pick up my new IS 250 next week and am currently getting insurance etc sorted. Just wanted to know about breakdown cover given by lexus, should i get this with my insurance company (Elephant) or is Lexus ok?? What breakdown cover do Lexu provide ?? Thanks again for any help

I've had my share of banged up cars, i usually get the cars passed onto me when they are on the virge of falling apart, from my dad !!! So now with many many extra hours at work and the help of a loan company i can afford a quality car !!!

Hey folks, i've been following this forum for many months now and hopefully will join many of you in becoming a Lexus owner within the next month (providing there are no more delays) Anyway, myself being 23 years of age and the Lexus IS250 SE being my first car (i.e the first car i have ever bought, not driven) i was wondering what the average age of all you lexus owners are, if you dont mind me asking?? The few times i have seen a new IS, it always appears to be an old guy behind the wheel?? The reason i went for Lexus was because i was fed up with BMW, Mercs, and Audis, just seem too common and i could get some exclusivity with the Lexus, and ofcourse the reliabaility etc....... It would be interesting to know, so be honest !!!

Hey, i know exactly how you feel. I too got a call from the dealer yesterday, saying delivery wont be until July for my SE 250, which i had also ordered in Feb. I guess hopefully like you said, they should have the problems of rattling sorted by then, but only time will tell !!! Another thing, a little off topic but has anyone heard any more on the IS 250 Sport Automatic, coz back in november they told me it will be an option, then in Jan said it definitely wont and i remember someone saying that they may actually consider it !!! If anyone has any other info regarding this, it would be really helpfull Thanks

I was just told that delivery of my SE with MM IS250 will not be delivered until July, with the order placed at the beginning of Feb. 6 months to wait for a car !!!! It just better be as good as everyone says it it, coz the new BMW Z4 coupe is definitely appealing to me now !!!!

I was told they were due to be released in April and would come fitted on my 250 SE which i still dont have a clue as to when it will arrive !!! (ordered in Feb)

What !!!! IS250 Sport with Auto, are you sure !!!!!!!!!!?? I was assured that there will definitely NOT be an option of Auto in the Sport, which is the reason i settled for the SE instead. If anyone knows different, i would like to know because i am prepared to go to Lexus and tell them :tsktsk: This being my first Lexus, i couldn't be more annoyed as to the way they are handling this, no one seems to know what car comes out when, and even if it will be in production !!!!!!!! If anyone can shed some light and clear this up once and for all, it would greatly help !!!

when i placed my order back at the start of feb, i was told that mud flaps would be fitted as standard. for some reason they are released in April, i think?? so all who take delivery in April or after will have mud flaps. I think thats right !! Anyway, i would like to see how it looks, didn't actually realise before !!
